Things you do out of love are the things you will never regret doing.
Just another day.
Did you ever try opening your planner, notice the days that were left blank and ask yourself what the hell did you do that day … or night? (depending on your lifestyle choice).
I did and all I got was a slight headache.
In all my planners, there’s always that day in a month that has no writing on it. The blanks are more obvious when you doodle (like me) and use different colored...

Bill, Trial, Hope.
Relative to all other rights, right to belief is absolute. Meaning, you can believe what ever you want (i.e. fairies, talking stones, care bears in the rainbow) without fear of repression. No one has the right to say that your belief is wrong and stops you from believing so. You own your thoughts. The limit lies when you act on that belief. While you may believe that fairies exist, you can’t...

Humans are NOT naturally 'nasty'.
Nietzsche was “scientifically invalid” all along?
That is, if you trust this guy:
That’s Frans de Waal, a biologist at Emory University in Atlanta. He says humans have lots of pro-social tendencies for reciprocity, fairness, empathy and consolation.
“Until just 12 years ago, the common view among scientists was that humans were nasty at the...

Warning
In case you study/live near UST, you prolly have heard of Noodle King Pares Mami House near Dimasalang? If not, good. Because that place svcks big time!
Their food is salty, it makes you wonder why you just didn’t order 1kilo of salt in the first place. Also, their service is bad. As in GrepaLife kind-of-bad. It took them 20 minutes to serve my food, not because it was hard to prepare (it...

Hot Air and Camera
I don’t know when my fascination for hot air balloons started. I usually prefer rockets, balloons just seem a little bit too … fragile? But thanks to Lee Scoresby, I now see them in a different light.
So I grabbed the chance of finally being able to witness balloons err, fly. The HotAir Balloon Fiesta was really an awesome experience.
The sunflower hot air balloon was arguably the...

Give me your password.
Unless you are a Kardashian, you value privacy. No one wants their online accounts hacked and their innermost secrets thrown out in public, right? Kiss your hard-earned reputation goodbye!
But with hackers becoming more sophisticated now, the best defense is still having a good and reliable password for protection. Meaning, it must be hard-to-crack.
In 2009, Rockyou (a social gaming site)...

Anonymous asked: can I ask the title of the book in your profile picture on twitter?
Money can't...
The only thing worse than not having money is having a thousand pesos and you can’t buy anything cos the store-lady just won’t accept it. And they think you’re just doing it because you want smaller bills.
Masama bang bumili ng 12-ounce coke. Kelangan may hidden motive?
See, money can’t buy everything. Fvck this first world problem!

Debate weekend!
I spent the whole weekend adjudicating for debates. Stressful but fun. Can’t explain the feeling, parang love lang. Hindi mo alam bakit mo ginagawa.
No alcohol for this week. It’s hard. T-T
Saturday: AB Series Grandfinals.
Sunday: Dialectics 2012 Elimination Rounds
UST Faculty of Civil Law
Me and the organizers.
Adjudicating. Feeling seryoso lang. LOL

Dialectics 2012!
Random life update: This will be a busy week for me. I’d be CA-ing a debate tournament in UST. Made the motions already and I hope things would go well. Goodluck everyone!
Dialectics is an annual inter-collegiate debate and public speaking competition of the University of Santo Tomas, hosted by the Thomasian Debaters Council, that aims...
I routinely ask people to remove me from their GM list.
– Nothing personal. LOL

Flashmob
At 9am today, I received an email asking all Rockwell Land’s employees to go to the powerplant mall for a practice. Apparently, it’s our president’s birthday on monday and instead of greeting him the “normal way”, we will do a flashmob dance instead.
If you are wondering what it is, I’ll save you the time of going to wikipedia. Here’s the copy-paste...

Sasha sasha sasha.
That’s Sasha Laxton. He’s five years old. Nothing special except he was born to parents who think culture is damned. They want him to be gender neutral. And you thought your parents were demanding, eh?
Sasha’s mother Beck Laxton (a feminist blogger) wants Sasha to develop his own personality free from the constraints of sexual stereotypes.

Okay, so some fat insecure ogre-girl wrote something bad about UST. So what?
– People should really just ignore it. School wars are myths propagated by HS students who haven’t even entered the University yet. Just fvcking study, please.

MRT. More fun in the Philippines!
I don’t know what they are playing at, but riding the MRT was never “fun”.
The first time I rode that dilapidated third-world tin can with wheels, I died. All that heat, sweat mixed with testosterone and fat seemed to suck all the happiness in the air. It gave me a preview of what it might be moments before the Armageddon and it’s not fun. I can still vividly remember...

Ruining it for everybody
“Whenever I hear the word “spiritual,” I reach for my revolver. So I do my best to avoid people who speak or think in spiritual terms. Folks like that make me a little queasy and nervous. They seem a bit too disconnected, too smug, too naive, too brainwashed, too dull-witted. Still, there’s no denying it’s something an awful lot of people talk and think about.”

2012.
The Mayans would prolly get pissed. After hundreds of years of waiting, it was all in vain! Obviously, the world won’t end this 2012. Scientist have “admitted” that they might have miscalculated the time. By how much, no one can say. So, there is still that ‘end of the world as we know it scenario’, just not now. Or the near future. So go watch 2012 and laugh. Laugh hard...

Kid person.
Apparently, even for kids ‘iPhone is everything’. Take for example, Nathan (the 5-year old kid assigned to me in our annual Christmas Party for the orphans in Rockwell). Nathan likes to play. And no, not just any play. It must be angry birds in iPhone. Yes, he was very specific. I have no iPhone (not yet, dammit!) so he went to one of the managers and asked if he could play with her...

Me: Do we really have to dance for the Christmas Party?

This weekend
Random update. Assuming you care, syempre. Kapalmuks ako eh.
I prolly won’t get to post much this weekend.
I got to be part of the 5-member Adjcore (the rest are from UPD, La Salle etc.) of the Roco Debate Cup in Bicol. It’s a regional event so all Bicolanos are there, I think. The adjcore basically is task to make motions, adjudicate and run the debate proper.
Free transportation,...
